Twelve years ago, we did the impossible. We relaunched a legend. But today, the landscape at Coca-Cola has changed. The partners who understood our passion have moved on. In their place is a new group of people who don't know our story, or the movement YOU helped build.
WHY A BILLBOARD? WHY NOW? 📍
Our digital voices are being routed to "appropriate departments" where they are quietly ignored. We don't want to point fingers, but it is clear that brand loyalty and a huge opportunity are being overlooked.
By taking our message to a physical billboard, we are making this movement undeniable once again by expanding from the screen to the streets. Coca-Cola employees and countless Atlanta residents will have daily reminders of who we are, and see exactly what we've set out to accomplish.
MORE THAN JUST A DRINK 🥤
SURGE is not just a soda. It is a community. We mean business, and we are here to show them that there are many reasonable avenues to bring SURGE back. The rest is up to them, but the message will be loud and clear.
SURGE 👏 WAS 👏 FUMBLED 👏
We want to be clear that SURGE was a huge success when it was relaunched. We'd know, we had first hand insight. Internal changes shook things up, and SURGE ended up in the wrong hands. It quietly disappeared from shelves in recent years.
We believe that there are passionate employees at Coca-Cola that would love to get their hands on and build up a relaunch campaign for SURGE. We hope this billboard can help get those types of conversations going there.
We are simply here to advocate for SURGE enthusiasts around the country 💚

As someone who has been disappointed in Coca-Cola's direction for the last several years, I genuinely believe this is a step in the right direction for the first time in a long time.
Even if there were other factors that pushed Coca-Cola to do this, Mr. Pibb has always deserved its rightful spot in the beverage portfolio without the 'Xtra' -- and with legitimate backing.
Coke, remember to nourish your smaller brands. Giving Mr. Pibb real, long-term support is a strategic investment, not just a nod to a niche product. This is about playing the long game, not just chasing instant gratification.
Here's a promise: when you recognize the fans of your smaller brands, you build powerful relationships that don't stay in a silo. That goodwill improves your image and impacts your company positively-- more than you know or understand.
There's another brand we can think of there too. How about SURGE next? Let's talk before we launch a new billboard 😉.
